How did I get here?

You would think it would be obvious that I’d become a musician as a kid. I was always tapping on things, making too much sound and frustratingly correcting people’s melodies. When I was 7, I was given a violin to play with my sister, and according to my mother I quickly far surpassed my sister in every way imaginable (she definitely said this, trust me). At 12 I wanted to play the drums, and ended up learned Djembe from a hippie that lived on the beach in Hong Kong who always smelled like… something. At 15 I started a band with close friends, and while we never released any music I forced them to teach me all their instruments.

So considering all this, I don’t know why I was surprised when my mother suggested studying music professionally, but I’m glad she did. I’m now finishing my last year at Point Blank Music School in London, with a confidence in not just playing instruments, but composing music, mixing and mastering audio and editing sound. I’ve taken part in a number of short films, open mics, and audio projects with other creative and musicians. I’m always hungry for a challenge, so it’s only a matter of time before I sink my teeth into profession composition, game audio or anything else!
